My Body Love Journey: How I Moved from Shame to Gratitude & Celebration
Listen above, on Apple Podcasts or Spotify.
*Trigger Warning: This episode includes (non-graphic) discussion of an eating disorder and negative experiences I had while dieting.
I thought I’d try something a little different with this week’s podcast. Instead of an interview, I’m sharing the story of how I’ve come to a place of deep love and gratitude for my body.
Wherever you’re at on your body love journey, I’ve likely been there. So I wanted to share the steps I took to change my relationship with myself and let you know that it’s not your fault and you’re not stuck where you are. IT CAN GET BETTER.
Here are some of the things I discuss this week:
The societal messages that led to my poor body image
The challenges I faced as I struggled for years with an eating disorder, diet obsession and over-exercising
How many of the diets I tried were marketed as “healthy” and how that is a load of bullshit
What it took for me to start making a change
The resources that helped me change my perspective and start loving myself
What it feels like to be in a place of peace with my body
I’m sending this episode out there with so much compassion for everyone working to love their body more. And I hope that sharing my story makes you feel less shame, more hope and that you’re not alone.❤️
If you enjoy this episode, please drop us a review over on Apple Podcasts, subscribe and/or share on social media. It goes so far in helping us spread our message to like-minded folks.
Thank you and XO!
